Every year with our kids we get the Samaritan’s purse Gift Giving catalog and we sit down with our kids and talk about how they each get to give Jesus a present. I pick out 10 or so things from the catalog that I know we can actually afford and then the kids secretly get to choose one gift that they want to give to Jesus. They cut the picture of the gift out of the catalog and then they tell me the gift they’ve chosen.I go ahead and pay for it but we keep it a secret from the rest of the family. They wrap up the picture of their gift that they’ve chosen. On Christmas morning we open their presents to Jesus first. The kids always want to know that the other kid chose and it’s a great way to make our Christmas morning more about Jesus and giving and less about what they’re getting.
I’m going to print out your gift giving ideas and add that into the mix this year. I would love it if you could come up with even more ideas that might be kid friendly ideas.
