Casey and Briana met in 2000, as Briana, a student from the University of Washington, volunteered at the clinic in Cazale that summer. They both graduated from college in 2001 and were married in Tacoma, WA in 2002. Briana initially connected with the RHFH clinic because she long sensed a call to be involved in international medicine. She attended Tulane School of Medicine and received her M.D. in 2008. She simultaneously completed a MPH in Tropical Medicine from the Tulane School of Public Health. Their family returned to her home state of Washington, where she completed an Internal Medicine residency program at Virginia Mason Medical Center in 2011. Casey completes his seminary education and graduates with an M.Div from Corban School of Ministry in Tacoma, WA in 2013. They have 3 children, Grace, Isaiah, and Gretchen and intend to relocate to Haiti in January 2015.
