We have always needed to refer patients to other clinics, labs, and hospitals in Haiti and the DR. We are limited in the services that we are able to provide and need to work with others to get the best care possible for the patients. We have gathered names and addresses from many resources over the years and put them in something we call our medical directory. The last time that I updated this book was in 2008. The earthquake and cholera and just life in general put this updating project on the back burner until now.
We are needing new contacts and updated info. Here is the outdated info I have: MEDICAL DIRECTORY 2008. I would appreciate any corrections or additions that you might have. You can leave a comment or email me lori at realhopeforhaiti dot org.
My goal is to compile all the data and post it here on the website. I would do my best to keep it updated as I could and as I got new info. I think that this would be a great wealth of info for short and long term medical missions. Haiti has many resources, good hospitals, and compassionate doctors. I think that just makes sense to put our heads together, communicate this info, use them, and help as many patients as possible. I know that some of you that read our blog have never been to Haiti, but others live here full time or come on short-term trips. Many of you have so much knowledge and we should put it to good use. Not a week goes by that someone doesn’t ask us where would be the best place to send a certain patient. I know that there is a need for this info and I’m asking your help and input. I will be so happy to share the new list and know that we all worked together to help facilitate better access and care for those we serve.
