New Admits to the Rescue Center

ANGELINE

She is 6 years old and weighs 32 pounds.  About 1 year ago she fell in a hole near her home.  It appears that she broke her leg, jaw and arm.  The family went to someone near their home that tied her leg and arm up in hopes that it would heal.  It did not heal right and now there are 2 areas that are open and oozing puss.  She is also malnourished for her age and is a -4SD.  She has 11 livings siblings at home and 1 that has died of cholera.  The family lives in a 4 room home made of rocks, tin and cement.  They do not have running water at their home or a flush toilet, not even an outhouse.  They must walk 1 hour to the nearest water source to get water for their home.  The family has gardens where they grow beans and corn.  The day she was admitted she had a bag of cheese puffs and the day before a plate of rice.  The families average monthly income is around $70US.  They traveled 8 hours (one way) on a mule to arrive at the clinic.  She was started on the medika mamba program and on medications.
