Casey, Dr. Briana, Grace, Isaiah, and Gretchen embark on an adventure and a calling today.  Following God’s leading, they are moving to Haiti to become full-time missionaries here at RHFH.  I thought I would go back through mom’s letters to see if there was anything that she had written about Casey.  Even though she isn’t with us today, her words might offer a point of reflection for today.  She dreamed about this day and longed for it more than air-conditioning and a cold diet coke on a 100+ degree Haiti day.  Seeing her three children ministering in Haiti would make her heart proud and put a dance in her step.  I can imagine she would be constantly be singing a song of praise and randomly shout out a genuine “I love you, Lord!”

This was part of a four page letter to supporters in 1997…

Casey is fine – 5 more weeks of school – he graduates June 7th – still doesn’t have his future mapped out or even a school chosen, but we’re sure God has great plans for him.  As he translates for Zach, he sometimes starts preaching a little on his own.  I’m certain whatever he ends up doing he will be a help and blessing to many.  Moms can say that.  🙂

God’s timing is always right.  We look forward to seeing how God’s will unfolds in all our lives and trust Him to lead us through the ups and downs.  Starting tomorrow, we will all be in Haiti together serving our Lord.  Though the future and duration are uncertain, we know that God has lead us together for this time and we will do all we can to accomplish His kingdom work.  As mom believed in her heart and wrote thousands of times….
