- A nice article written about the benefit of donating to small, grassroots organizations like RHFH.
- A discussion as to how the recent Cholera Outbreak is impacting the already less than adequate food production in Haiti. Last official count I saw was 3,333 dead from cholera.
- Troubling reports that there are voodoo killings over belief some are using black magic to spread cholera.
- There are reports that cholera has now reached every region of the Dominican Republic as well.
- Grateful to God some of our best friends are back in Haiti. Tout bagay is very bien since you are back on this wonderful island with us. Welcome home!
- A scathing report of the world’s broken promises to Haiti. In early 2010 35 nations pledged $3.8 billion, but as we reach 2011, those numbers have dwindled to 20 nations pledging $1.5 billion.
- We are glad to see Pastor John Piper is back from his leave of absence at Bethlehem Baptist and Desiring God. We were thankful he and his wife Noel were able to visit us here in Cazale back in May. They were a tremendous encouragement to us when they were here.
- Interesting world population graphs.
- A read through the Bible program for slacker. Too many people start out the year with good intentions, then give up because they fall behind. This plan avoids those problems. The idea is you read a different part of the Bible each day of the week (OT Poetry-Sunday; Pentateuch-Monday; OT History-Tues & Wednesday; OT Prophets-Thursday; NT History-Friday; NT Epistles-Saturday).
