What will this week hold…

Can you do us a favor?  We are preparing for another busy clinic week.

We want to look like this at the end of the week

And not this 🙂

I was thinking that some of you could offer a prayer, quote or scripture that might give us strength and encouragement.  We would love it!  You can leave it in the comment section below.  Looking forward to getting up tomorrow morning to another busy, productive day and hearing from you.

  3. Dawn Scott says

May God do in your life what only He can — strengthen you with His love, fill you with His assurance, bless you with His peace, and hold you in His arms as you trust Him with every detail of your day.

  4. Carol Ann says

    Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.
(Picturing you all soaring through the week!)

  5. Mari says

Isaiah is full of great promises!

But do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
    Isaiah 41:10

“I am sending you like sheep among wolves. Therefore be shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” Mathew 10:16

I am not sure how this exactly pertains to you guys, but this came to my mind right away. Be sheep. This world is so horrible… all the suffering and unfairness. Be sheep.

“Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls.” (Mother Teresa)

This week, I pray that all are filled with the peace and joy of the Lord … That the same peace and joy pours down upon your homes and the town of Cazele each new day. I pray for laughter and love to penetrate your spirits this week. And, I pray that I can come visit you again soon.

Thank you for all the amazing work that you guys are doing in Haiti … And thank you for the joy and love with which you do your work.

    Lori and Licia…

I found this verse this week and have read it many times in the NIV version, but I decided to look it up in The message and I am hooked! 🙂 You know my passion for the least of the least of these… and this verse embodies how God uses what the world looks at as nothing; all for His Glory! I hope this blesses your day as it has mine!

    1 Corinthians 1:26-31 (The Message)

26-31Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t see many of “the brightest and the best” among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these “nobodies” to expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”? That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God. Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have the saying, “If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God.”

    Take care…

    Rebekah

  9. Rhyan says

Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according
to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to
    do the humble work.
    ~Mother Teresa

  10. Susan Baker says

I recently spent a week in Casale with 6 my students. Their experiences with the children at the Rescue Center, their interactions with Lori, Lecia and Father Anibal, their time with the people of Casale has forever changed their lives, their career goals, their priotirites. This is the quote that helped them realize that their short time mattered in ways only God knows. It is a reminder to do whatever part we may play well and to trust in God to do the rest.

“We cannot do everything and there is a sense of liberation in realizing that. That enables us to do something, and to do it very well. It may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way, an opportunity for God’s grace to enter and do the rest.” Archbishop Oscar Romero

I don’t know what to say. Ya’ll have so much going on. There are so many people in need and hurting. Psalm148:17-18 says-“The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. the Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” I pray that you all would feel the Lord’s presence and faithfulness as you faithfully serve him and his children.

  12. Lori says

    LOVE IT!

  13. Shawn Finch, DVM says

Praying for you all as always! We just had Artist For Hope friends return from Cazale and are anxious to hear “first hand” about everything there. God bless you.

  14. Amy says

“When we do the best we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another.” ~Helen Keller

I would like to purchase this book for you – http://www.aholyexperience.com/one-thousand-gifts-book/. Licia, could I send it to you when you are in the states? Let me know if there is a way I could get it to you sooner (or if you have received it already)! Check out Ann’s blog, too. She is a phenomenal writer and a lover of God.

  15. Witta's says

My daughter pointed me to this…

Ephesians 3:16-17 (NLT) I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.

  16. Caroline says

Remember that one time the naked/puking/pooping guy with cholera hit on me and asked me to sing for him?

that should bring a smile to your face 🙂

  17. Bobbi says

    Jeremiah 32:27
Behold, I am the Lord the God of all flesh; is there any thing too hard for me?

    Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor, for if if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone for he has no one to help him up.

You have many people lifting you up in prayer.

    Psalm 94:19
In the multitude of my anxieties withing me, Your comforts delight my soul.

    II Corinthians 4:8
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed, we are perplexed, but not in despair.

  18. Amy says

I am currently studying the book of Ruth. Today’s lesson was on her work ethic. I never realized just what an amazing woman she was. By working hard, even in the face of many challenges (she was a woman, a widow and an alien), she placed herself in a position for God to work in her through her. So when you are facing a hard day, remember that the hard work is just an opportunity for God to shine through you. You may never be aware of the impact you have had, but God will see your efforts and know. (Ruth had no idea she was helping to create the family line of Jesus). You are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless! Col 3:23-24

  19. chris says

I had to write to tell you that I don’t think I can inspire you because you all are my daily inspiration. When things are hard, when work (politics) are ugly, I think of all of you and what you do. I think of the people of haiti and all they have been through. Then I thank the Lord for my hot shower in the morning, my many choices of food (not just food, but CHOICES), and my over abundance in life. You folks (and the people of haiti) are my daily inspiration even though we have never met.

  20. Rhyan says

“There is always the danger that we may just do the work for the sake of the work. This is where the respect and the love and the devotion come in – that we do it to God, to Christ, and that’s why we try to do it as beautifully as possible.”
