$640 was given for the need for backpack by three blog readers! Thank you so much! I will be ordering them this coming week!
Claudette is doing well. Her stomach and legs are healing, she is walking with a walker, smiling more, and…..her stomach is looking so good that I can carry her over my shoulder! God is good! Thank you to all of you that have been praying and encouraging her. She feels it!
Here are a few of the letters send down with Anna. She loved every single one of them.
Our day, (Sat)
We got up before 7 to go work with the community group. We planted trees and vetiver for 6 hours. We as a group had a lot of fun. As we were walking to work several guys yelled at the group and said some not nice things about them and the blancs. Discouraging. A moto drove by and yelled you are stupid the trees you are planting are going to die. It was very hot in the sun. We ran out of cold water. But everyone in the group kept going. They know that the group planted this vetiverand trees for the past two years and it works. Two mountain sides have been saved from massive erosion. They want their community to be better. We are proud of them. We got back at 2pm. Quick lunch and shower. Came down to the office and took care of 4 people that had been waiting since morning to see us. 3:30 started doing dressing changes for Mamenda and Claudette. We finished at 5:30. Roberta and Angela weighted the kids. We went up and made dinner at 6. After dinner we had a movie night planned with aunt Lori. The ladies in the tent came up and told us there was a cut outside. It turned out to be a drunk guy that always yells at us when he sees us. He was drunk and got into a fight and had two large cuts on his head from a several rocks that were thrown at him. He kept flipping around and opening his eyes and when he would see us blow kisses at us and tell us all kinds of things. There was another teenager that got hit by one of the rocks as well. Good size cut on his head. When there is a fight many people in the community get involved and so there were lots of people waiting outside for the two to come out. Then a bad moto accident came it. Two cuts on the head, one on the arm, and his foot was ripped up in several places. He was in a lot of pain. We finally finished up and then Mamenda (one of the burn girls) pooed and needed her dressing changed. Got that done. Meds tonight in the tent at 11pm and 1 sick 4 pound baby. Hoping to get some sleep.
Chidley died last night. He is not suffering anymore. We and his family are happy for that. They do not have any funds to make a casket or do burial. We will be taking care of that for him. It will just be a simple burial. I would love to be able to give the family a love offering from us. The casket will only be $62.50. If you are interested in helping his family please let me know licia@realhopeforhaiti.org
The three little guys are still with us. Little Marcelien on the left needs extra prayers. He is not doing well. Would you remember him today in your prayers.
Proverbs 14:29-31
29 Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. 30 A heart at peace gives life to the body,
but envy rots the bones. 31 Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker,
but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
