Thanking God for the extra help

Have you every had a crazy day.  One where you were like WOW, I am totally overwhelmed with all that is going on, you know normal stuff, 81 kids to care for, over 100 people at the cholera house, school sponsorship update, moto  accidents, kids dying, kids on oxygen, hundreds of questions each day, trying to figure out how to get the supplies you need, broken bones, deaths at the cholera house etc.  That our life these days.  At the beginning of the year we began to have people write us to come and visit for the summer here at RHFH.  I would guess and say we had about 50 people ask to come.  The board, and RHFH decided we did not want a lot of people here at once.  Just maybe 3 to 4 at a time.  We also thought Jess would be here to direct everyone at that time.  So we made our the summer schedule and had a total of 8 lovely ladies we accepted to come.  We wanted those that we willing to come for a least a month.  Willing to give everything they had to help us.  Willing to do whatever we asked them, clean, organize, pull charts, count pills, dump poo buckets, work long hours.    This is the first summer we have done this.  Right now we have 4 lovely ladies that are with us.

Caroline has been to RHFH several times we call her our disaster gal as she came in and helped after the earthquake and right after the cholera outbreak.  She works hard and does everything she can to help Lori and I. She has been working this week with Lori doing a teaching class for 12 health care workers that are going to have ORS stations in 12 areas to try and help us lower our numbers at the cholera house.  She cares for the very ill kids, give shots, does dressing changes, helps with births at the cholera house, prepares the children that have died for burial, puts in IV’s, works crazy shifts at the cholera house.  Just helps out when and where ever and when ever we need her.

Anna-banana-our school teacher from 2009/2010.  She does everything, and basically never sleeps.  She is covering the night shifts for the really sick kids in the RC and giving me a break from that.  She prepares the kids that have died for burial, works crazy shift at the cholera house, play with the kids, organizes and cleans up some really yucky storage areas, takes lots a great pictures, makes us great snacks, reads with my kids and makes us all laugh with her love for life.  We always miss her when she return home, but we know she will be back soon 🙂  She will also be jumping/pushing Lori out of the plane in a few days.

Hannah will be here until Aug 7th.  She has done just about everything.  Counting pills, cleaning, organizing, sorting, packing items, working at the cholera house, caring for kids, watching the sick ones while Anna sleeps,  Every.single.thing. I have asked her to do she has done it.  And ALWAYS with a joyful heart. She always says, whatever you need me to do today I will do it.  We apprecaite that. I am hoping that we will see Hannah again here at RHFH.

Erin visited us last year.  She was a good friend of Mary our teacher for 1/2 year for 2010/2011.  Erin’s graduation present was a trip back to Haiti.  She worked hard these past two weeks.  We had her doing shifts at the cholera house, counting pills, sorting, making up HTH bags of clorox for the cholera house, taking care of sick babies, filing and cleaning, .  She also got to spend some time in the dressing room doing some nursing stuff. Erin has a real love for the community here in Cazale and we apprecaite that.

So I tell you about these wonderful girl to let you know that God cares about us.  He cared many months ago and hand picked these ladies.  He knew that we would need each of them.  He knew what they were made of.  He knew that we would be needing a lot of extra hands. He knew that they were the exact ones that we needed.  We just love God so much and thank Him so much for all that He has done for us!

Do not forget about Lori jumping out of a plane in 10 days! (you can read the post here) I will have a post soon on my feeling about this event.  Here are the giving below.  We lack $8830.00 to reach our goal. Thank you to everyone that have given!

Ameyah is too cute. I bet she’ll be the administrative assistant by the time she’s 10 years old. You can tell she loves her auntie Lori.
