Debbie and Lorie in MN have been packing suitcases each week to send to us here in Haiti. An organization called Healing Haiti has been carrying down the supplies for us free of charge! WOW! what a blessing for us. If you live in the MN area contact Debbie (debra_woodward@msn.com) if you have supplies or even an extra suitcases we can use. We are still in great need of adult & kids diapers and infant formula. Maybe you can organize a diaper/formula/suitcase drive within your church, small group or community. Every.little.bit counts!
2nd load-10- 50 pound suitcases
1st load-4- 50 pound suitcases
Does anyone have time to search out these items below online for me? I cannot seem to locate them. I am looking for #1 where to purchase them at #2 price.
This is a stretcher that we used to carry patients off the Comfort ship after the earthquake. We are still using them for the cholera patients. We only have two left. We would like to be able to get these out into the communities to help get patients to us.
We are having problems finding cots that will hold up. The ones that have worked the best are the ones below in the middle of the picture. The have off white legs, and a white plastic that covers the cot. They are the perfect size and the four we have had held us since the beginning.
If you find these items email me (licia@realhopeforhaiti.org )or leave a link in the comment section of the blog.

August 6, 2011 at 3:38 pmPeople can order formula and diapers through Walmart or Target. Target has free shipping on some of the products for orders over $50. I can also do Walmart pickups at the Brooklyn Park Walmart or Silver Lake Road (Minneapolis) Walmart.
You can just order for pick-up and include my name on the pick up list at Walmart and I will stop by and pick up your order. Then we just keep shipping down to RHFH so that we can smooth the flow of supplies until the container gets there. Walmart can notify me of a same day pick up at debra_woodward@msn.com
We REALLY need formula. I have a little to send this week but not much. I haven’t had any formula to send in the other suitcases.
If anybody wants to ship to me please send the items to:

August 8, 2011 at 8:50 pmMaybe we should just make cots out of Duct Tape and they will never rip apart. Lori Geiger has been talking to a lot of people today about cots. It appears that ripping is a very common problem. Most cots are used for camping, etc. (low, occasional uses) and aren’t designed for this level of use.
We will find something. Are the frames of the other cots okay and can you just get replacement fabric for the part that they lay on?
Licia says
August 9, 2011 at 8:55 amframes are breaking as well. That is why I think a plastic kind would work better. You know sometimes we had 2 adults to a cot so there seem to be some cots that can hold up to 1000 pounds so something like that might be better. They are also getting up and down a lot, just getting used all the time.
