New admits this past week

NOELCA

She is 3 years old and weighs 23 pounds.  She has abcess in her rectum and has kwashiorkor.  She had a rough weekend with lots of pain and drainage but is finally feeling better today.  Noelca has one living sister.  She is currently on the medika mamba program.

JOHN JULY

He is 13 months old and weighs 11 pounds 8 ounces.  His mama died when he was a small baby.  His dad has been trying to care for him since then.  John July has 2 livings siblings.  He is currently on the medika mamba program.

KERVENSLY

He is 1 month old and weighs 3 pounds 12 ounces.  His parents seem to really love him but he just is not gaining any weight and is getting smaller each week.  Due to us being overwhelmed with so many sick kids we asked if GLA would take the little guy for us.  He was transported the next morning and is doing well.  We are so thankful that they are willing to take these fragile little ones for us until they gain more weight and we can handle them in our set up here.

LESLINE

She is 19 months old and weighs 16 pounds 12 ounces.  She has kwashiokor and has been ill for several weeks.  When admitted her glucose levels were very low.  She has had a rough weekend and is still not to the point where I can say she will live.  She is currently on the medika mamba program.

MATH THIERRY

He was 15 months old and weighed 8 pounds when admitted.  He had many problems but his little body just could not recovery. He died on Friday.

NOTREMENE

She is 8 years old and weighs just 24 pounds.  She has been following in the clinic since she was 10 days old.  In the last year her weight has been dropping and she has been losing weight.  We have been giving her supplement food for a few months but her weight continues to drop.  We are hopeful that we will be able to help her get better.  She is currently on the medika mamba program.

 SALIVINORD

He is 2 years old and weighs 21 pounds.  He has already lost 3 pounds of “water weight” from his kwashiorkor.  His mom left him with the dad when he was about 1 year old.  He has not seen her or heard from her since that day.  Salvinord has been sick for awhile and his papa is very worried about him. His legs are very tight and swollen causing him lots of pain.  He is currently on the medika mamba program.

STANLEY

He is 19 months old and weighs 12 pounds 10 ounces.  He was severely, severely dehydrated when he was admitted.  His mom died of cholera last year and his papa has been doing his best to care for him and his siblings.  Many times they have to leave the kids with someone to care for them while they search for work in a bigger city.  This is what his papa has been doing.  His son almost died this past week.   He is on the medika mamba program.

We want to thank each of you that takes the time to say a prayer for these kids and for the staff here at RHFH.  There are many long days here.  We don’t have the weekends off or even most nights.  This is a 24/7 job for us.  We appreciate each of you and are so grateful for your love and support.  To God be all the Glory!

God bless you for all that you do for these little ones. It is heart wrenching just to see their pictures and read their stories, but you live with these heartaches every day. I am praying for you and for the children.

Anna, you would LOVE Stanley. So cute! Already has a cute, crazy smile, but only when one of the nannies sings “Le Le Le Le Le Le Le Let” 🙂 I’m looking forward to Jan too.

God, I pray that you will continue to strengthen the hearts, spirits and bodies of the workers at RHFH as You also work on healing the bodies of these sweet little ones. You have a purpose for each of these precious little lives, and I pray that Your will be done throughout it all. Allow the team the strength and time to rejoice in the successes, and comfort them through the losses as well. Thank You for every life in this center, the workers and the patients! In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
