We are thankful today to so many of you that continue to support our effort here in Cazale, Haiti. Whether it be through prayer, financial donations, donations of supplies, encouraging words, researching for us or actually coming to lend us a hand, we appreciate you and are so thankful to each and everyone of you.
A few months back we saw the need to begin including F-75 Therapeutic Milk into our program and care for our severely malnourished children. This product is used before the medika mamba. Many times the children that are admitted are not only severely malnourished but very sick. Their bodies often times are unable to tolerate usual levels of proteins, fats and sodium. F-75 Therapeutic milk is used in phase 1 of treatment of severe malnutrition. It is not intended for weight gain but to help in stabilisation.
We put a facebook request up and ask people to research and try to find where we could located some of this milk. Many of you searched for us and gave us very helpful information. We began contacting the only known 3 suppliers in the world that made the product to get pricing and try and figure out how we were going to get it to Cazale.
Our friends at A Child’s Refuge offered to purchase a pallet of the product. WOW! We were super excited and so thankful for this blessing. They then sent the milk to our friend Debbie W in Minnesota. Debbie worked with Healing Haiti to get the milk to us by them carrying it in their luggage for us. Zach went and picked the product up yesterday!
We have been working on charting and figure out the amounts to give each child, it can be given every 2, 3 or 4 hours depending on what phase they are in. We can also use it for our adults. This morning we mixed our first batch for 1 adult and 4 children. We are super excited to see this product work and help our sickest children recover.
So today we are thankful for so many things large and small. But we are thanking God for His faithfulness in always providing for all of our needs, great and small, each and everyday. What a great God we serve. To Him be all the Glory!
