He is 10 years old and weighs 29 pounds.  He was referred to us by Bread to the Nations. The family of 5 lives in a 1 room home made of rocks, tin and cement.  His papa sells sweet homemade cookies on street and is gone most days trying to make money to provide for his family.  The family does not have running water at their home or a flush toilet, but do have an outhouse.  Their average monthly income is around $117.  His papa believes that his son is this sick due to not having enough food to eat.  His favorite food is boiled eggs and he will eat a dozen a day if we would let him 🙂  He was started on the F-75 milk and then graduated to the medika mamba program.

VANESSA

She is 7 months old and weighs 8 pounds. She was referred to us by Bread to the Nations.  The family 6 lives in a home made of rocks, cement and tin.  They do not have running water at their home or a flush toilet, but do have an outhouse.  They get their water from a piped system that is near their home.  She was admitted with a 104.9 temp and was very dehydrated and sick.  It took them about 4 hours to get here from their home.  The mama said she really does not know how Vanessa got this way.  She thinks it is because they have no money and  she has been sick for several months.  She was started on the F-75 milk and then graduated to the medika mamba program.
