Miss Carolyn Elliott’s grade 5/6 class at Cyrus Eaton Elementary School, Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Canada took on the project of fundraising for medika mamba. One of the Healthy Living learning targets in Nova Scotia’s Public School curriculum is to take age appropriate action to affect global change. In January Johanne (RHFH supporter) visited their class and read them Pierre Louis’ story from the RHFH blog. They could relate to him as they are the same age. They took the challenge to fundraise for medika mamba. The class created greeting cards and sold them in our community. They had a lofty goal of $1000! They surpassed this goal and were able to donate $1742.63 to RHFH for medika mamba. The students truly worked to make a change in this world.
Johanne and some of her family visited RHFH this summer. They were able to bring the “check” for the funds and get a picture with the children that are benefiting from Medika mamba. We love it when children get involved and create projects that are helping so many here in Haiti.
THANK YOU Miss Carolyn Elliott’s grade 5/6 class at Cyrus Eaton Elementary School! You Rock!
