“Bloom where you are planted” is a sort of cliché, but it is all the way true.
In His Sovereignty, God has placed us in families and jobs and ministries for a reason. He has given us work to do, so let us do our work whether at home or job or church as though it is God Himself that entrusted it to us.
Colossians 3 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
The obstacles are many, the discouragements are plentiful, and narrow is the way. So, if we are to persevere in our God-given work, it is essential we put God first, before our presuppositions, our prejudices, our projections, our paranoia, our pride, our passivity, our self-pity, and our pain.
