Back in 2009, after the flooding in Cazale, we received an email from the US embassy expressing their desire to visit and provide gifts and food for the children. We made preparations for their arrival, and were later informed that the ambassador’s wife would be joining them. A team of police was sent ahead of time to ensure the area was secure. On the day of the visit, we stayed in touch with them via phone, and police arrived beforehand to check the site once more. The embassy stayed for a few hours, taking a tour and distributing toys to the children.
The kids had a blast, and we had a delightful afternoon. We would like to extend our appreciation to the US embassy for bringing joy to the children almost a decade ago.
