Staff Spotlight~Loudia

During the months of Nov, Dec and Jan we have several employees that take their vacation days for the year. At that time we have a hand full of ladies that come in to work their shifts. Many are new part time employees that are seeking a job full time. Today’s post is a story about Loudia one of our new part time employees.

My name is Loudia. I live in the village of Cazale with my 5 children. Both of my parents are still alive and I have 2 sister and 3 brothers. I live in a home that I do not owe but I do not have to pay rent in at this time. The home has 2 rooms with a porch. I filled out an application for work last year but was never called in for work. At the beginning of November I ask for them to look at my application again and they called me into work for 3 months. I began working with the children that are in the nutrition center. It was new for me because I had not been around a lot of sick children. I like to play with the kids because when they play they are happy. When they are happy that makes my heart happy as well. The affection that I have developed for the children in great. I have come to love them like my own children and want them to be able to be healthy and live a good life.

When I come to work in the morning we get the kids up and wash their face and make sure they have fresh diapers on. We give them medika mamba and then when it is time for breakfast we take them out to the tables. After we feed them we go inside and everyone gets a bath. Most of the kids take a nap. Then they get up and have play time. I sit and play with the kids. We then prepare for lunch and do the same thing feed the kids and then baths again. When they kids are laying down for nap time we have cleaning that we do each day so we do that then. There is another play time in the afternoon. Some kids have wound care so we take them to the clinic for that. Around 330 we have snack time. We wash all their faces when they are done. They we begin to prepare the report for the day for shift change. We make sure everyone has on a dry diaper before we leave and head home to our families. Since working I have been able to pay the fees for my children’s school and purchase food for our home. I also have been able to buy some items in bulk to resell on the days I am not working.

I enjoy living in Cazale with my family it is a place that has a river so we always have water that we need. We also have gardens and fruit trees in the area. I would like you to pray for me and my family that I can continue to work and save to begin building my own home.
