The Word

Matthew 4:4

⁴ But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

The word of God is not simply a collection of words from God, it is a vehicle for communicating, it is living, life-changing and dynamic as it works in us. With the incisiveness of a surgeon’s knife, God’s word reveals who we are and what we are not. It penetrates the core of our moral and spiritual life. It discerns what is within us, both good and evil. The demands of God’s word require decisions. We must not only listen to the word, but we must also let it shape our lives.

Allow the word of God to judge the intents and thought of your heart. All of God’s words are right and true-they can be trusted. The Bible is reliable, unlike people, God does not lie, or change His words, or leave His promises. We can trust the Bible because it contains the words of a holy, trustworthy and unchangeable God.

The Word of God is living and powerful!
