Staff Perspective-Gilbert

Hi everyone, this is Gilbert, and I want to share with you a story about Jeannicia, a woman who is truly grateful for the clinic in Cazale. Jeannicia is 42 years old and has been coming to the clinic for many years, ever since she was a young woman. She told me, “For any illness I have, I come to the clinic. All of my children, from before they were born until now, come here for any sickness they might have.”

Jeannicia has faced many health challenges over the years. She suffers from high blood pressure and asthma, and there have been times when her family found her unconscious due to these issues and rushed her to the clinic. She recalls, “This last time, I don’t remember anything, but I woke up in the clinic on oxygen.” She told me how grateful she is that the clinic provides oxygen, saying, “It’s a blessing that this clinic can provide oxygen because everywhere else I know, you have to buy your own.” There were also other times when Jeannicia came to us in severe pain. Once, she had terrible stomach pain that made her feel like she was dying. But by God’s grace, she made it to the clinic, and with the medications we provided, she recovered. Another time, she was in so much pain that she couldn’t lift her legs. Again, the clinic helped her find relief and heal. Jeannicia told me, “I wanted to say thank you, and if it were me naming the clinic, I would have called it ‘God’s House.'”

Her words remind me why we are here—helping those in need, offering care, and being a source of hope for families like Jeannicia’s. We are blessed to be part of her journey.
