As we celebrate 30 years of service at Real Hope for Haiti (RHFH), our hearts are full of gratitude for the countless lives we’ve been privileged to touch. The journey hasn’t always been easy, especially in the early years when we struggled to find effective solutions for malnutrition. In 2009, everything changed with the introduction of Medika Mamba, a life-saving, locally produced product. Though we lacked the funds to purchase it initially, the generosity of a partnering mission allowed us to secure our first 5 cases. Since then, Medika Mamba, along with F-75 and F-100 Therapeutic Milk, ReSoMal, and zinc tablets, has become a cornerstone in our fight against malnutrition. These essential tools have helped us treat over 7,000 patients, both inpatient and outpatient, giving them a chance at a healthier life.
Among the many stories of hope and healing, one stands out—Madelene. In 2010, she arrived at our Rescue Center on the brink of death. Severely malnourished, swollen from kwashiorkor, and unable to walk or sit, her condition was dire. But Madelene’s remarkable will to survive, coupled with God’s grace and the care she received, led to her miraculous recovery. Today, her visits reminds us of the profound impact of our life saving work.
Over these 30 years, we’ve cared for more than 4,000 patients in our Rescue Center’s inpatient facility. Each story, like Madelene’s, is a powerful testament to hope, resilience, and God’s faithfulness. Thank you for standing with us through the years. Together, we celebrate the miracles of the past and look forward to many more. To God be all the glory!
