Be ye Transformed
Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Do not be conformed to this world. We need to withstand the pressure of the crowd to form our life. Let the mercy and grace of God guide us in our lives. Evel is often popular but disobeys God.
1 Samuel 8 Israel demanded a king. They wanted a king for the wrong reasons. They wanted to be like neighboring nations. They wanted to run the nation through human strength, even though only God’s strength would help them to survive and be victorious. We do the same today-we want to do it our way or on our own strength, but it will not work. We can only succeed by trusting and having faith in God. Our obedience is weak if we ask God to lead our family or personal life, but continue to live by the world’s standard’s and values. Faith in God must touch all the practical areas of life. Conforming to this world rejects God.
But be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Transformation-a supernatural change worked in the character and nature of a person. 2 Corinthians 3:18 We are being transformed into Jesus likeness form glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord. God’s ultimate goal for us is to make us like Christ. As we become more and more like Him, we discover our true selves, the person we were created to be.
How can we be transformed into Christ’s likeness? 1. by reading and obeying the word of God. 2 by studying Jesus’ life here on earth through the Gospels. 3 by being filled with God’s Spirit 4. by doing His work in the world.
