My name is Orilia, and I have been working at RHFH for several years. Over time, my role has evolved, and I am now in charge of the kitchen. My life is a powerful testimony to how God and RHFH have supported me, and I want to share my story with you.
Since my marriage, my greatest dream has been to hear a baby cry in my arms and to be called “Mom.” However, complications with my uterus turned this dream into a challenging journey. My first two pregnancies ended in miscarriages. In my subsequent pregnancies, my health declined significantly—I couldn’t work or eat, as every bite felt like it was choking me.
During these dark times, RHFH was always there for me, offering kindness and assurance. They told me that if I ever needed help, they would take me to the hospital.
One pregnancy required a cervical cerclage to try to save my baby. Tragically, my baby was born prematurely and, despite being placed in an incubator, passed away a few days later. I endured more pregnancies where my babies lived only briefly—sometimes for a week, sometimes two. My family, deeply concerned for my health, urged me to stop trying, fearing I might lose my life. But I held on to hope and faith.
During my sixth pregnancy, I prayed fervently, surrendering everything to God. I told Him I no longer wanted to burden RHFH, as they had already done so much for me. I wished for the mission’s resources to help others in need. I decided not to return to the hospital and entrusted my fate entirely to God.
I sought initial exams at a health center, but I did not proceed with further tests. Despite occasional sickness, I refused to let fear take over, convinced that God would fight this battle for me.
When the time came to give birth, it was an ordinary day. After finishing my cooking, I heard a commotion outside. As I stepped out to see what was happening, I felt labor pains. A man on the street remarked that I looked like someone who would give birth that day. I returned home, called a midwife, and with God’s help, gave birth without complications.
When I informed RHFH about the birth, they were all very happy. However, the challenges weren’t over. Shortly after birth, my daughter fell ill and spent several days on oxygen at the clinic. Yet I remained calm, trusting God to protect my child.
Today, my daughter is 9 years old. She is healthy, attends school, and continues to thrive. I see God’s hand in every step of her life.
I am deeply grateful to God and RHFH. Without them, I wouldn’t be here today, but God had other plans for me. Thank you, RHFH, for everything you’ve done for me and my family. You are a true blessing in my life.
