My name is Viergemene, I am 66 years old, and I live with my son and a friend near the clinic. One morning, I woke up struggling to breathe. It was something I had never experienced before. As my condition worsened over the next four days, my family, fearing the worst, brought me to the clinic.
When I arrived, my oxygen level was at 57%, and my heart rate was 137 beats per minute. The medical team quickly responded, placing me on oxygen, monitoring my vital signs, running necessary tests, and providing the medications I needed.
Each day, I saw improvement. My oxygen levels increased thanks to the care I received. In Haiti, access to oxygen is difficult, and even when available, the cost is often too high. Having RHFH (Real Hope For Haiti) provide this treatment at no cost was truly a blessing—God’s provision for our community.
I was hospitalized at the clinic for fifteen days. Throughout my stay, the medical team was by my side, day and night, ensuring I received the care I needed. I never lacked oxygen, and all of it was provided to me for free.
When I first arrived, I couldn’t walk, talk, or eat. My family had to carry me in. But with the care I received, I slowly regained my strength. I started eating and speaking again, bringing relief and joy to my loved ones.
After fifteen days, my oxygen level had risen to 99% without the machine, and my heart rate had stabilized at 92 beats per minute. I was able to walk home on my own, feeling healthy again.
I am deeply grateful. First, I thank God for placing this clinic in our community. I also want to thank the donors—your generosity made my treatment possible. Without you, I might not be here today. Though words cannot fully express my gratitude, I pray that God blesses you abundantly. Thank you.
