Celebrating In-Kind Donations: A Heartfelt Thanks

At our clinic, every day is a battle to provide quality care to those who need it most. In the face of daily challenges, having the right medical equipment and supplies is essential for effective treatments and easing our patients’ suffering. Thanks to your ongoing support, we can pursue our mission with confidence and efficiency, ensuring that every patient receives the care they deserve.

This month, we are dedicating our efforts to sharing the incredible stories behind the supply donations that have sustained our services over the past 30 years. Whether brought in suitcases by visitors, in boxes by plane, or in containers by boat, each donation has played a vital role in keeping our doors open and our services functioning. Your generosity has been the backbone of our ability to care for those in need, and we want to shout a resounding “THANK YOU!” to every one of you.

The resources we receive—from medications that treat various illnesses to the dressing supplies that help us care for wounds, infected sores, and burns—are indispensable. These donations not only improve the quality of care we provide but also create better conditions for healing. Beyond medical necessities, the office supplies we receive contribute to the smooth operation of our mission. They enable us to manage patient records more efficiently, maintain rigorous follow-ups, and create an organized work environment that ultimately benefits our patients.

Your support has also extended to our nutrition center. One memorable story is that of Jean Odes, a 15-year-old boy who suffered a severe accident requiring surgery. After his operation, Jean was brought to our center for postoperative care, where he battled loneliness and the stress of being away from his family. To brighten his days, we arranged for a rechargeable radio—a thoughtful donation purchased on Amazon and delivered with the help of Agape Flights. This simple act brought music and comfort to Jean during a challenging time, helping him find solace and gradually overcome his sadness.

It is difficult for items to come to Haiti currently. The situation continues to change with regards to availability and security. We currently have accounts with Agape Flights and MFI, both organizations serving missionaries by flying in supplies, but we are unable to regularly meet the planes to pick up the items in the North. The Port-au-Prince airport will be closed for many more months. Both of these organizations have/had offices in Port-au-Prince where they would hold items until missionaries could get in for pick up; but, because of the continued airport closure in the capital, they are unable to receive any mail and are not currently working. We’ve heard about a business who ships in by boat and allows for smaller items like boxes, trunks, and barrels. We are currently attempting to ship in a few test boxes through them to determine cost, timeline, and ease of pick-up before sharing this new address.

We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of thousands of donors over the years. Every donation, every effort, and every act of solidarity propels us forward and enhances our ability to care for our patients. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who have contributed to our mission. Your generosity is inspiring us to continue our work with dedication and passion. Thank you for your invaluable support. Together, we are making a difference—one donation at a time.
