Praise and Worship
Praise can be expressed in many ways:
- Private prayer
- Public worship
- Spoken words
- Songs
- Obeying God in our daily lives
Worship means “to bow down” or “to prostrate oneself”—to humble yourself before God with reverence and awe.
Romans 12:1
God calls us to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice. This means daily laying aside our own desires to follow Him, putting all our energy, time, and resources at His disposal, and trusting Him to guide us. We do this out of gratitude because our sins have been forgiven.
John 4:23-24
God is still seeking people who will worship Him. It doesn’t matter where or when we worship, but what matters is the attitude of our heart and mind. True worship is not just a ceremony or outward form, but a spiritual reality—one that aligns with the nature of God, who is Spirit and truth.
Ask yourself:
- Is your worship genuine?
- Do you have the Holy Spirit’s help?
- How does the Holy Spirit assist us in worship?
Romans 8:26 | John 14:26 | Romans 5:5
The Holy Spirit helps us in several ways:
- He prays for us when we don’t know how to pray.
- He teaches us the words of Christ.
- He pours out God’s love in our hearts.
There is a void in every human being—a longing to worship someone or something. Only Jesus can truly fill that void. We are created to worship. The ultimate purpose of mankind is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. God made us to be His worshippers.
He is calling each one of us to deeper levels of worship.
Are you willing?
Do you want all that God has to offer?
To experience this, we must give ourselves wholly to God, our Creator. God alone is worthy of our worship. What is your attitude towards worship today?
God is challenging each of us to walk more closely with Him—desiring more of His presence, more of His power, more of His love. Don’t be satisfied with where you are now. Long for more of Him! He is worthy.
Praise is the way, the road, the gateway, the door to enter into God’s presence.
It is an expression of admiration and thanksgiving.
In praise, we reflect back to God who He is and what He has revealed about Himself—offering our gratitude, admiration, and love.
