Wendilove was just a few months old when she first arrived at our clinic. Her mother, facing extreme financial hardship, struggled to care for herself and her newborn. From the very beginning, Wendilove’s health was in critical condition. She weighed just 4 pounds and was suffering from a neck abscess, severe anemia, dangerously low blood sugar, and level -4 malnutrition.

Realizing how serious her condition was, we quickly ran tests and admitted her to our nutrition center to begin intensive care. Our entire team came together with her mother to fight for her recovery . It wasn’t an easy journey—Wendilove faced many complications, and there were moments we feared she wouldn’t make it. But we all refused to give up.

She spent several days on oxygen and was fed with therapeutic milk. We monitored her around the clock, knowing how fragile her condition was. Slowly but surely, we began to see signs of improvement. Each tiny milestone gave us renewed hope.

As the weeks turned into months, Wendilove grew stronger—and captured our hearts. She became like one of our own, as she spent so much time with us and overcame so many challenges. With time and dedicated care, her health was restored.

Her weight rose from just 4 pounds to a healthy 18 pounds. When she was finally strong enough to return home, we knew her journey wasn’t over. Her mother was still facing great difficulties, and we wanted to make sure Wendilove continued to thrive. We provided infant formula, regular monthly check-ups, and, for three months, a large bag of food and funds to help her mother start a small business and better care for her daughter.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Wendilove received 18 months of care, support, through inpatient and outpatient care. Her transformation has been nothing short of miraculous. And today, we continue to walk alongside her.
