Words from Zach

Let Us Walk in the Light of the Lord

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”Psalm 119:105

Imagine walking through the night without a flashlight. Every step becomes uncertain. Every shadow holds potential danger. In the same way, life without God’s guidance is like walking in spiritual darkness. But God hasn’t left us alone—He’s given us His Word to light the way.

The Bible is not just a book—it’s a light in the darkness. It shows us where to step and how to live so we don’t stumble or lose our way. As Psalm 43:3 says, “Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me.” God’s truth points us to the right path, and His light gives us the clarity to follow it.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, lost, or unsure of what’s ahead, don’t rely on your own understanding. Follow the light and truth of God. He will guide you through the darkness.

God’s people are called to walk in His light. Isaiah 2:5 urges us, “Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord.” That light is found in His Word (Psalm 119:105), in His truth (Psalm 43:3), and ultimately in His Son.

John 1:1–9 tells us that Jesus is the true light—our Creator, Redeemer, and Revealer. “In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.” No evil can extinguish His light. In His light, we see who we truly are—sinners in need of a Savior. But we also see who He is—faithful, loving, and full of grace.

When we follow Jesus, the light of the world, we don’t have to walk blindly through life. He lights our path, gives us direction, and removes the darkness of sin.

Isaiah 60:20 gives us a beautiful promise: “The Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.” That’s the hope we hold on to.

But we don’t have to wait until eternity to begin walking in His light. Isaiah 2:4–5 reminds us: even though God will one day remove all sin and suffering, we are called to obey Him now. Let us walk today in His light, in His love, in His power, in His mercy, in His grace, in His compassion, in His joy, and in His peace.

And let us walk in obedience to Him.

Have you allowed the light of Christ to shine into your life?
