Why We Love Medika Mamba at the Rescue Center
At the Rescue Center, Medika Mamba has become a daily part of life—and we truly love it. It plays a key role in helping children recover from malnutrition and regain their strength.

Each evening, our staff carefully prepares the next day’s servings. Based on each child’s weight, we calculate the exact amount of Mamba they need. That amount is then placed in a small plastic container labeled with the child’s name. Throughout the day, the staff feeds the children their designated portion, making sure they get the nutrition they need to heal and grow.
So, what is Medika Mamba?
Medika Mamba—literally “peanut butter medicine” in Haitian Creole—is a ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) made in Haiti. It’s a high-protein, high-calorie peanut paste enriched with vitamins and minerals. It doesn’t need refrigeration or preparation, which makes it especially useful in resource-limited settings like ours.

We’ve seen first-hand how well it works. Many of the children who come to us are weak and undernourished. With daily servings of Medika Mamba, we often see them regain energy, gain weight, and return to a healthy appetite within a few weeks.
We’re grateful for this simple but powerful tool that helps save lives every day. Thank you to everyone who makes it possible for us to provide Medika Mamba to the children in our care. It’s making a real difference.
