Hello, my name is Adelaine.
I used to live in village with my husband and our two daughters. After my husband became ill and passed away, I focused on supporting our family by selling cooked food. But on April 19, 2023, everything changed. Armed groups entered our area, bringing violence and destruction. To protect my children and myself, we fled with nothing, losing everything we had.
We arrived in Cazale with no belongings and little hope. A kind neighbor offered us a place to stay, and people in the community helped us with food and clothes. But the house wasn’t safe—it leaked when it rained, and I felt uncomfortable always relying on others.
I wrote a letter to RHFH asking for help to restart a small business. When I received a response, I was overjoyed. It gave me hope again.
Thanks to their support, I now sell fried food, and each day I’m able to earn income, buy what we need, and continue building a future for my children. I’m so grateful for the help I received—it made a real difference in our lives.
I pray that God continues to bless those who support us and stand with Haiti during these difficult times.
