Clinic Story-Moreau

In the rural community about twenty minutes from our clinic, lives Moreau, a 52-year-old husband and father. Like many in Haiti, he and his family have faced growing challenges—work opportunities have disappeared, insecurity has spread, and healthcare often feels out of reach.

One morning, Moreau woke up with a heavy feeling in his chest. As the hours passed, it became harder for him to breathe. His wife quickly found a motorcycle taxi—the only way to travel the narrow roads—and rushed him to our clinic.

When they arrived, our staff acted immediately. Moreau’s oxygen levels were dangerously low, and without quick intervention he may not have survived. Thanks to the support of donors, our clinic was equipped with oxygen machines and essential medications. Moreau received oxygen therapy, along with the medicines he needed to stabilize his condition. For hours, the medical team stayed by his side, monitoring him closely until he began to recover.

As his strength returned, Moreau shared about the weight he carries. Before Haiti’s crisis deepened, he worked and supported his family. Now, with no jobs available, he spends his days worrying about how to provide. The stress has been overwhelming, and in his discouragement, he turned to alcohol—something that has only worsened his health.

“I think too much,” he said quietly. “I worry because I can’t take care of my wife and my son. There’s nothing for me to do.”

For Moreau, the clinic became a lifeline. The oxygen, medication, and compassionate care he received were made possible because of donors who believe in this mission. Without that support, stories like his could end very differently.

Today, Moreau is breathing easier and gaining strength. His story is a reminder that every gift matters. Each donation provides real help—oxygen, medicine, and hope—for people in Haiti who often have nowhere else to turn.
