Staff Spotlight-Miradieu

My name is Miradieu, and I’m a proud Hope Homes parent with Real Hope for Haiti. I live in a four-room home with my husband and three of my children. I’m also the mother of four grown children who now live on their own.

One of the greatest joys in my life has been caring for a Hope Homes child who came to live with us when he was still taking a bottle. He’s now 13 years old, and I’ve raised him like my own. I never imagined I could love a child who wasn’t biologically mine this deeply, but he is truly part of our family.

Our daily routine is simple and meaningful. I prepare breakfast in the morning and help him get ready for school. In the afternoons, he returns home to a meal, does chores, and enjoys playing with friends. He helps around the house—sweeping and carrying water—and is a great support to me.

Being a Hope Homes parent has also been a blessing for my family. It has allowed me to pay off debt and complete small improvements on our home. At my age, finding other work would be difficult, but being a mother comes naturally to me. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute in this way.

I deeply appreciate the mission of RHFH and all the work they do in our community. They care for the sick and make a special effort to help children. I love that—they understand how important it is to care for the most vulnerable.

I enjoy living in this community. The people are kind, and the natural surroundings—the trees, the river—make it a peaceful place. I attend the local Catholic church and continue to place my life and work in God’s hands.

If you think of me, I would be thankful for your prayers—that God would continue to guide me and protect my family as we move forward together.
