Donlove’s Journey

Today, we want to share the story of Donlove, a 6-year-old from Cazale who has faced serious health challenges but is now finding joy and hope in his everyday life.

A few years ago, Donlove experienced a tragic accident when he accidentally swallowed a chemical product. The incident severely damaged his esophagus making it difficult for him to swallow even small amounts of food. Despite his family’s quick response and initial medical care, the damage was significant. Over time, Donlove lost a dramatic amount of weight and became extremely frail, leaving his family and caregivers deeply concerned.

Living just ten minutes from our clinic, Donlove received ongoing care from our medical team. Countless treatments were attempted to help him eat again, but progress was slow. There were moments of hope and many more of uncertainty. Eventually, it became clear that he needed more specialized care—a feeding tube placed at a hospital to ensure he could receive nutrition safely.

Once the tube was successfully inserted, Donlove returned to our nutrition center, where a dedicated nutritionist worked closely with him. With consistent support and proper care, he began to gain weight and regain strength.

Today, Donlove is a different child. He smiles, plays, and enjoys life with a sense of light and hope. He often says with pride,
“Now I’m not skinny like before, and I look better like this.”

While he still can’t eat everything his peers do, Donlove now has the chance to grow, learn, and thrive. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of donors, whose support gave him a second chance at life and the opportunity to flourish.
