GVADK-Community Development Group

GVADK is, at its heart, a labor of love.
We are a fully volunteer-based group — no paid staff, no salaries, just people who care deeply about strengthening their community. Every project we take on is fueled by dedication and the belief that real change starts with those who are willing to serve.

Our work reaches across many areas of community life:
– supporting students and schools,
– repairing irrigation canals so farmers can grow their crops,
– providing funds and tools for canal maintenance,
– helping families build safe homes,
– improving sanitation and living conditions,
– and much more.

GVADK has never been limited to development projects like nurseries or tree planting. Our mission is broad because the needs of our community are broad. But like many organizations in Haiti, we faced a difficult season. Ongoing instability forced several of our members to emigrate, shrinking our team and requiring us to pause many activities while we worked to recruit new volunteers. During this time, we were also renting space for our operations—a recurring expense that placed a strain on our limited resources year after year. Then came a turning point. Through the generosity and partnership of Real Hope for Haiti (RHFH), GVADK was granted permission to use a designated piece of land to carry out our work. This opportunity significantly eased our financial burden by eliminating rental costs and allowed us to redirect resources toward serving the community.

Today, we are taking an important step forward.

With RHFH’s approval and collaboration, a small structure is being constructed on this land to support GVADK’s activities. This building will allow for the presence of a full-time guardian to help oversee equipment, materials, and daily operations. Even more, it provides a consistent, stable location where volunteers can meet, plan, and continue their service with renewed focus and stability—strengthening the work being done for the community.

GVADK is moving forward, growing stronger, and laying foundations — not just in brick and mortar, but in hope, stability, and the community working together.

We are building something that will last. Brick by brick, we continue the work.
