Operation or Emergency care

A Second Chance to Walk Again

Eight-year-old Wenlove lived with his mother, father, and aunt, in a rural community about an hour away from our clinic. Like many children, Wenlove loved spending his days running, playing, and exploring outside. But one day, a normal afternoon changed his life in an instant.

Wenlove fell into a drainage ditch and severely injured his right leg. The pain was immediate, and his family quickly realized he needed urgent medical care. His mother made the difficult journey to our clinic carrying her frightened son, who was no longer able to stand or walk.

An X-ray revealed that Wenlove’s thigh bone was broken. Without proper treatment, the injury could affect his ability to walk and grow normally. Surgery was needed, but the cost was far beyond what his family could afford.

Because of the generosity of our donors, Wenlove received the care he desperately needed. He was transported to a hospital with orthopedic specialists, where surgeons repaired his fracture and placed metal rods in his leg to help stabilize the bone.

After surgery, Wenlove returned to our clinic for months of follow-up care. Our team provided wound care, medications, pain management, and regular monitoring to help him heal. We accompanied him to hospital appointments and X-rays to make sure his leg was recovering properly.

The road to healing was long. There were difficult days filled with pain, patience, and uncertainty. His family waited and prayed, hoping that one day he would be able to walk and play again.

Nearly a year later, doctors determined that Wenlove’s leg had healed enough for the rods to be removed. After another surgery, he returned to our clinic for continued wound care and recovery.

Slowly, the little boy who once arrived in pain began to smile again. He was able to walk, play, and enjoy being a child.

For Wenlove’s mother, the gratitude was overwhelming. The medical care, surgeries, transportation, and follow-up appointments would never have been possible without support from donors.

After Wenlove recovered, his mother shared her thanks with our team and those who helped make his healing possible. She explained that what once seemed impossible became reality because people chose to care.

Wenlove’s story reminds us that one moment can change a life—but compassion and generosity can help rebuild it. Through your support, children like Wenlove are given more than medical care. They are given hope, healing, and the opportunity to dream again.
