At our Rescue Center, care does not end when a child is ready to go home. Before each child is discharged, our nurses meet with parents or caregivers to provide practical education on how to continue caring for their child at home.
They explain the importance of providing a balanced diet that includes three essential food groups: energy-giving foods, body-building foods, and protective foods. Parents are encouraged to feed their children at regular times each day, provide the recommended number of meals, and continue following the nutritional guidance given during their child’s stay.
Our nurses also teach families the importance of good hygiene. They encourage parents to bathe their children regularly, wash their hands with soap, and dress them in clean clothes. Families are also taught to keep children away from dirt and unsanitary environments, which can increase the risk of infections and other illnesses.
These educational sessions give parents the knowledge and confidence they need to protect their children’s health at home and help reduce the risk of malnutrition and illness returning.
