New Staff! New Life!

We are thrilled to have Keverly serving in Cazale with us!

Keverly Dyson has been a long time friend to Real Hope for Haiti. We are grateful that God has impressed upon her heart the desire to share life and ministry with us here. Her genuine love for our Lord and sincere affection for the people of Haiti is evident. Her enthusiasm and optimism has been an encouragement to us, we look forward to the difference she will make in our community of Cazale.

Keverly has been engaged in global missions most of her life, as she was a missionary kid in Venezuela, Costa Rica, and Mexico. After finishing high school in Mexico, God gave her a desire to serve other missionary kids. Through God’s Providence, she found a blog post from Licia asking for someone willing to come teach her boys in Cazale. God answered Keverly’s prayers. God answered Licia’s prayers. So the missionary kid, Keverly, became the teacher for the missionary kids at Real Hope for Haiti in 2009.

Keverly enjoyed her time as teacher, remarking that “Henoch and Licia’s boys were the best students in the whole world.” During the year of teaching, she fell in love with the boys, she fell in love with the mission of RHFH, and she fell in love with the beautiful people of Haiti.

It made a significant impression on her to witness the great need in Haiti for both physical and spiritual care, and the way that Licia and Lori poured themselves out to meet those needs.  Keverly saw the impact that RHFH was making through the super sisters, and it became her inspiration to go to nursing school at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

She completed her BSN RN at Liberty in 2014. Since then she has spent time gaining experience as a nurse in various roles including serving those with mental and physical disabilities in North Carolina, working with Mercy Ships in Benin, West Africa, and providing end of life care for an elderly couple she considered as family. In addition, Keverly spent her free time in service to God and to others both by volunteering as a guardian ad litem (investigating cases of children in foster care during custody battles and representing the children in court) as well as mentoring and working as medical advocate for women rescued from human trafficking in North Carolina.

Ever since she first visited Haiti, Keverly has consistently sought God’s will about staying long term.  She has returned as often as she has been able over the last 10 year, most recently for 3 months in the summer of 2018. It finally became clear to her and to us that the timing was right for her to come and stay. We are so thankful she is here!

Keverly’s sending church is North Wake Church in Wake Forest NC.  She is extremely thankful for them and for the support of other churches and ministry partners who make it possible for her to be here. Keverly is also grateful for the way her parents continue to equip and encourage her to spend her life in service to Christ.

While she serves at RHFH, she wants to help in any way she is able. She will work as a nurse in both the clinic and rescue center, and will take over the pharmacy inventory from Anna (Thanks to Anna for all your diligent work!) One of her priorities will be to work with our foster care program, to help provide the best possible homes and care to the 16 foster children who are already in the program and to any who might come in the future.  Keverly has a heart for the lost, and desires to meet spiritual needs as well, sharing Christ at every opportunity and bringing Him glory here in Cazale.

Privileged to have met the whole family when Jim and I were in language school in Costa Rica. In fact, they lived across the street from us and was truly a blessing in so many ways. We are proud of Keverly and her family❤️

I am so happy that each of you get to experience the love that Keverly showers on all who are around her. She loved on our family as my husband went through his last days on earth and she was the most amazing blessing to me. I will forever be grateful to God for Keverly. I am so happy for all of you. I have followed her journey since before she was with you the first time and have been praying for your ministry throughout the years. I will continue to lift all of you up to the Father!
