Some friends in need

by:Licia

I have some good friends of mine here in Haiti.  They do a great work and help many children just like us.  The take in malnourished children and care for them.  They also take in little premature babies.  We have sent several of our babies to them in the past few years.  They were affected by the earthquake last year and have been living in make shift housing for many months.  Pat and Melinda (a mother and daughter team) have worked here in Haiti since 1988.  Melinda and her husband had a little baby girl about the same time as I had Ameyah.  They have been in the US for a time and are planning on returning to Haiti soon.  They are in need of funds for monthly support and funds for airline tickets ($1400.00) to return to Haiti.  It makes me sad to think that after 23 years of service here they are stuggling now to met these simple needs.  I would not tell you about them unless I believed in them and knew they were the real deal.  They work, and work and work to save as many children as they can.  They just do there job and do not make a big deal about it.  They are quiet, hard working and dedicated workers of Christ.

This little guys name is Loner. (what a sad name ).  He was in the RC and not doing well.  We asked Pat and Melinda to take him and see what they could do.

Here he is after they cared for him.  He is doing great and is a happy healthy little guys that just needed their special knowledge to help him.  We are so thankful to them for saving his life.

Would you consider helping them today?  I will be sending my check to them as well.  You can check out their web site here  You can click here to help them reach their goal of $1400.  Or you can send you donations to

    Licia,
I have read about them on your blog over the years and know how high your regard for them is when you are willing to give the care of one of your “own” to them. The pictures of Loner should say it all. Thanks for sharing-we’ll be sending a check as well. God bless you!
