Haiti and Canada eh?

Did you know that Haiti and Canada are the only independent French-speaking nations in the Americas? And between 1957 and 1990, during one of many unsettled periods in Haiti’s history, Canada received a large number of Haitian refugees. Most of these families still reside in the province of Quebec today and in the 2006 census, over 100,000 Canadian residents stated to be of Haitian origin. Canada has participated in various international interventions in Haiti in the recent years and continues to provide aid today.

We are thankful to have created a wonderful bridge between Canadian donors and RHFH last year through The Great Commission Foundation (GCF), allowing Canadians to donate funds directly to RHFH and then receive a donation receipt to use for their yearly income taxes. The details on how to use this awesome resource will be attached below. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email katrina@realhopeforhaiti.org. To all the Canadian’s out there, let’s do our part to keep the connections between Canada and Haiti strong by supporting the work RHFH is doing!
