Petterson is a 3 year old boy who came to clinic at the beginning of this month with sores all over his body. He also had a high fever. Many of these sores where small ulcers with an island of black necrotic tissue in the middle. He stayed with his mother in the dressing room to receive antibiotics and wound care. The fever stopped after 2 days. The skin lesions are improving, but very slowly. We added antibiotics to cover cutaneous anthrax. His mother is very attentive and their interactions always bring a smile to my face.
