Real Hope Academy students share meaningful Bible Verses from the 22-23 year

Real Hope Academy students share meaningful Bible verses from our 22-23 memory work.
We would enjoy knowing the verses that impacted you this year. Blessings, RHA

Ameyah:
Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who will love it will eat its fruits.“

This verse helps me think about how our actions and words are more powerful than we realize. We need to be quick to hear, but slow to speak. Sometimes we need to imagine that if every word we said, or thought about another person appeared on their body – would we regret the words we said .

Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to division of soul and of spirit of joints and of marrow and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

This verse means to me that a two edge sword is sharp, but it cannot be stronger than God‘s Word. It also makes me think of Satan as a two edged sword. That Satan tries to pierce our hearts with sin, but God on the other hand is 1 thousand -even 1 million times stronger than Satan. I want you to keep this verse in mind for when you are in difficult times. I want you to remember that God is the Almighty King and nothing can defeat him!

Grace :
Philippians 4:8
“Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise dwell on such things.”

This is one of my favorite verses, because it is a good message to carry with you through your life – a message you can use in any situation. I love the part where it says “dwell on such things”. I interpret it this way: the more you think, or dwell on pure, lovely honorable thoughts,  the more you are prone to carry out actions of such attributes. Every action is first rooted in the foundation of a thought whether it be sinful or God pleasing. So this is a great verse to remind us how to think Godly thoughts.

Gretchen:
Psalms 51:10
“Create in me a clean heart oh God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

God gave us a chance for our heart to become clean by believing in Jesus. It is like a dirty heart going through a filter and a clean heart coming out. I can keep my heart clean and my spirit strong by learning about God, reading my Bible praying and asking him to help me more. I can sing songs and worship him. Parts of the song might remind you about God like “Jesus loves me” that reminds me that He will always love me and be there for me. Then, when Jesus comes back, you can be happy with the Lord in your home in Heaven.

Isaiah :
Ecclesiastes 9:10a
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.”

I think this verse tells me when you find a place where God‘s will needs to be done,  do it with all your heart , your strength , your mind and soul-  all for the glory of God. Here in Haiti,  I try to help out with work and I also play with the admitted kids to keep them happy. That is doing God‘s will. His will is any kind words or actions big or small. So, just as Jesus devoted his life to doing God‘s will all the way to the end, we should too.  When you can’t find a place where God‘s will needs to be done, pray to God and ask Him to light the way. He always does. Fulfill your purpose to live, and transfer God’s will into glory for Him!
