You are scared and sick. You seem so confused by everything that happened today as I watched your papa make a hard decision to leave you here with us. He brought you to the clinic not understanding nor able to control what was happening to his baby girl. Your mom is going to have another baby soon. This makes them worried because they are having problems finding food for all the family already. When your mom stopped breast feeding after she found out that she was pregnant, they couldn’t find or buy enough food for you to stay healthy. Even with your hungry belly, your papa loved you. Even when you cried in pain as your body swelled, your papa loved you. Even as your skin started peeling and everyone was scared to touch you, your papa loved you. You’ve been crying so much for him today that I know that you love him so much too. He started carrying you down in the middle of the night, waited to be seen in clinic, handed you to me, and walked 5 hours back up to your house. He will be back. We are praying and working hard so that you will get better and be at home in his arms again one day soon. I know that you don’t understand, but you are starting to trust us. We are praying for your healing, Frislande.
