Chednaline was discharged from the hospital. She still had fluid around her lung on discharge and probably still had fluid around her heart, but the medication to treat tuberculosis had improved her condition considerably. She has been back to clinic multiple times and she is full of energy and life. Praise God! Unfortunately, she is unable to get back to the hospital for follow up appointments due to gang violence. Treatment for tuberculosis requires at least 24 weeks of medication. We referred her to a clinic near her home that we frequently send patients to for tuberculosis treatment, but the clinic is out of anti TB medication. Chednaline’s mother tried to go to a hospital further North, but the road was blocked. We have some anti tuberculosis medication, but not enough to complete treatment for Chednaline. Chednaline’s mother loves her daughter fiercely and fights for her. She is going to try and get through the road blocks again this week. Pray that God would provide a way for them to reach the hospital and that they will find the medication she needs. He is able!
