Do Moulin is an area that has only been developing in the past 10 years. The government built a road through the area to connect 2 roads. Since that time people have begun to build their homes here. It is a quiet place where everyone gets along well even though we don’t have a leader. We don’t have government offices here, but we do have a school and the cholera treatment center.

About 10 years ago, something really bad happened. A truck had an accident because its brakes stopped working, and many people got hurt. It was a sad and scary day for all of us. There have been other accidents in the area as well. So the area is known as a dangerous area for accidents. One of the big problems we have is not having enough water. We have to walk far to get water from the river or from public places. Most of us are farmers, and we grow things like beans, watermelons, and millet. We work really hard every day, and we have to rely on rain to water our crops because the land is not irrigated.

The houses in Do Moulin are all different. Some are made of tin, some of bricks, and some of rocks and clay. Most of the kids go to the same school, and they like playing games together, like marbles, tag, and jump rope. We like eating simple foods like rice, beans, sauce, and goat meat, watermelons and corn. Even though there isn’t a church nearby, we still practice our faith. We walk to other villages to go to church.
