Throwback Thursday-Zach’s truck

In 2009, we got our first new truck for RHFH. We called it Zach’s Truck, and it’s still important to us today. Before we got it, we raised money for the truck and are so thankful to those that donated. Our mission was growing at that time, and we needed a bigger truck to carry all the things we needed for RHFH. We made some changes to the truck, like adding a big metal cage in the back to hold more things, and benches so people could sit. Zach’s Truck has been very helpful to us.

We still use the truck almost every day! We use it to bring supplies, take people to town, help sick people get to the hospital, bring in supplies from planes, move things for other groups, carry coffins to the cemetery, get water, and unload big loads full of stuff.

From the bustling streets in Port-au-Prince to Cap Haitien to the remote corners of the village, Zach’s Truck has been our steadfast companion. We don’t know what we would do without Zach’s Truck. It’s still running today with Zach’s son Casey. One of our workers even said that when Zach’s Truck can’t work anymore, we should keep it and put flowers around it. It’s that important to us and the village.
