Clinic Story-Julia

In a small, rural community, baby Julia entered the world under difficult circumstances. Her mother had experienced dizziness throughout her pregnancy, but due to limited healthcare access in their remote area, the medical support she received was not enough. After giving birth, she suffered a severe hemorrhage and, sadly, passed away just one hour later.

Julia never had the chance to be held by her mother. In the days that followed, her mother’s cousin stepped in to care for her and quickly noticed that, without breast milk, Julia was missing the nutrition she needed to grow and thrive.

At just 22 days old, Julia was brought to the clinic. Her caretakers explained her story and presented her mother’s death certificate. In response, we began providing infant formula to support her development. Since then, she has returned for monthly check-ups and receives continued nutritional support. Today, Julia is two months old. Though her life began with loss, she is now in the care of a loving family and receiving the resources she needs to grow stronger each day. Sadly, stories like Julia’s are not uncommon. Many families in similar situations struggle to afford formula, which makes early intervention and support all the more important. We’re grateful to walk alongside Julia’s family and help give her a strong start in life.
