Staff Spotlight-Cadelien

My name is Cadelien, and I’ve been working with Real Hope for Haiti (RHFH) since 2022. I live in a two-bedroom home with my wife, our two children, and my father. It’s a home I’m proud to own, and the work I do at RHFH helps me support my family—sending my children to school and caring for my father.

My role is not always easy, and it involves real challenges and risks. I travel throughout the country with patients who are too sick to receive care at our clinic and need to be transferred to hospitals or specialty facilities. I also help purchase medications and supplies, and I follow up in person with the families of children when phone contact isn’t possible.

One of the parts of my work I value most is helping patients and their families navigate the hospital system. For many, going to a large hospital in another city is overwhelming. I’m there to guide them—to help them find their assigned room, locate the right medications, and understand what the doctors are saying. It brings me peace to know I can make their experience a little less stressful.

I’m proud to work with RHFH. This organization helps so many people in need, not just through the clinic but through ongoing support, advocacy, and compassion. I truly don’t know what the area would do without them. I’m grateful to be part of the team, doing meaningful work that makes a difference—both for my community and my own family.
