Throw Back Thursday-Afternoon Bible classes

A few years ago, we started something special here in the afternoon – Bible classes for the children and teenagers in our area. At the time, we weren’t sure how many kids would be interested or what it might grow into. But thanks to the time and dedication of our three RHFH chaplains, it quickly became one of the best parts of the week.

The idea was simple: gather the kids together a few afternoons throughout the week, give them a safe and encouraging place to be, and pour into them through Bible stories, lessons about everyday life, and lots of fellowship. And the kids came—some shy, some excited, some just curious—but they came.

Those afternoons were full of energy. You’d hear laughter, singing, and sometimes the quiet focus of a group listening closely to a story about Jesus. The kids formed friendships, gained confidence, and had a chance to talk openly with leaders who cared deeply about them.

After six weeks, each child received a certificate celebrating their completion of the class—something many proudly carried home to show their family.

Looking back, those afternoons remind us why we do what we do. Investing in the next generation—spiritually, emotionally, and socially—is one of the greatest privileges we have at Real Hope for Haiti. And seeing the lasting impact on those children and teens still encourages us today.
