Djivenson is a six-year-old who loves to climb, explore, and enjoy like any other boy his age. One day, while his mother was away attending an activity, Djivenson climbed a small tree in the yard of their home. In a moment, he slipped and fell—breaking his leg.
Afraid and unsure, Djivenson didn’t tell his mother what had happened. As the days passed, she noticed something was very wrong. Her son could no longer walk, and his pain was getting worse. When she finally questioned him, she learned the fall had happened seven days earlier.
His mother rushed him to our clinic. By the time he arrived, Djivenson was in severe pain, especially in his left hip. After an X-ray, our medical team quickly realized the seriousness of his injury and made the decision to refer him to a specialized hospital for urgent care.
But the referral was only the beginning.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Djivenson and his mother were not left to navigate this crisis alone. Our team accompanied them every step of the way and covered all medical and transportation costs—support his family simply could not afford on their own.
At the referral hospital, doctors performed surgery to insert a metal pin into Djivenson’s leg. He remained hospitalized for a period of recovery before returning to our clinic. Once back with us, our staff continued his care with daily wound dressings and accompaniment to follow-up hospital appointments, ensuring his healing stayed on track.
Today, Djivenson is recovering well. He is slowly regaining his strength, and with each step forward, hope is returning to his family.
Through tears of gratitude, his mother shared:
“Without the help we received, I don’t know what I would have done. The donors did not only help my son—they saved his life.”
Djivenson’s story is just one among many, but it powerfully shows what donor generosity makes possible. Because of you, children receive care, families find hope, and little boys like Djivenson are given the chance to heal.
