Story about a recovered Patient-Odette

Odette is a 40-year-old mother of four who lives with her husband and children. She supports her family by selling charcoal, while her husband works as a farmer. Like many families in the area, they work hard each day to provide for their household.

When Odette came to the clinic, she was very sick. She had a constant cough, fever, flu-like symptoms, difficulty breathing, and had completely lost her appetite. After examining her, the medical team became concerned that her illness might be serious and recommended that she go to a larger hospital for further testing. However, Odette did not have the money needed for transportation. To help her receive the care she needed, the mission provided the funds so she could travel to the referral hospital.

At the hospital, Odette underwent several tests, including screening for tuberculosis. The results confirmed that she had TB. She began treatment right away and remained under medical care for several months while receiving the medication and support needed for recovery.

During this time, the mission stayed in contact with her and followed her progress. With consistent treatment and care, her health gradually improved. After nine months of treatment, Odette was able to return home to her family.

Today, she says she feels healthy again and is thankful to be back with her children. She is grateful for the support that helped her receive the medical care she needed during a very difficult time.
