Staff Story

My name is Gina, and I am part of the RHFH team. Today, I want to share the story of Nènè, a patient at our clinic whose journey reminds us of the importance of seeking medical care and the hope that can come through compassionate support.

Nènè lived near my home, so I had seen him many times. Over time, I noticed that he was becoming weaker and losing weight. He also developed many sores on his skin. Nènè believed that his condition could not be treated by medical professionals, so instead of coming to a clinic, he sought help elsewhere.

One day, I had the opportunity to talk with him. After listening to his concerns, I encouraged him to come to the RHFH clinic for a medical consultation. Thankfully, he listened and came to the clinic soon afterward.

When Nènè arrived, our nurse, Carolle, carefully examined him and ordered diagnostic tests to help the medical team understand what was causing his symptoms. After reviewing the results, the team began appropriate treatment for his skin condition and continued to encourage him throughout his recovery.

But Nènè’s care involved more than treating his physical illness. During his visits, our staff also shared the message of God’s love and hope with him. Through these conversations, Nènè made the decision to accept Jesus Christ into his life.

Over time, with proper medical treatment, encouragement, and continued care, Nènè made a remarkable recovery. His skin healed, his strength returned, and he regained a healthy weight. He was eventually able to return to his normal activities.

Nènè’s story reminds us why it is so important not to delay seeking medical care when something is wrong. It also reminds us that caring for someone involves more than treating a physical illness. At RHFH, we want to care for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—while offering compassionate medical care and sharing the hope we have in Christ.

We are thankful that Nènè received the care he needed and that his story includes not only physical healing, but also a new hope through faith.
